Bobo -- you gonna be missed

This is the story of a lovely cat named Bobo. Not sure when he was born. It was believed he was born somewhere around Puchong. He was rescued by a lovely lady name Bina.
The story of his early life can be read here: http://sillylupie.blogspot.com/2009/06/earth-adopted.html

Then, on June 2009, through Petfinder.my, I found Bobo (that time his name was Earth) and then I brought him home. Below picture was him after a day I brought home. Estimated that time he was around 2 months old.

He was a charming young mancat. Always act so cute that I cant resist myself to hug and snuggle him. Every morning by 6am, he will meowing so loud asking for food.
This is him at age of 8-9 months. Grew as a very handsome young man cat. At my apartment, he always played around with my neighbour's kitten, which about the same age as him, named Put.

Later, early 2010, I was assigned with new post which means new responsibility and demanding lots of time. I had decided to send Bobo to stay with my family.
Bobo had alot of friends there - Cici, Sulaiman, and also senior cat Yuke. All of them are my family's furry family members.  He looked very happy and put alot of weight. Everyday he went out exercising his muscles by catching bird, butterflies, running around the houseyard, and play around with his mates.
On May 2010, when I was in my hometown, I found a small wound at his leg. That wound was about 10cent coin's size. I brought him to the vet. The vet mentioned the wound is just an injuries due to fight.
On June 2010, I had been informed by my family members that Bobo's wound is not cure at all. Felt not good, I decided to bring him to see another vet. This Vet called dr.L, did confirmed Bobo's wound was because of sporotrichosis, but she said this will be healed after take medicine. She provided us with some sort of medicine and ointment that cause me to pay hundreds RM. I felt good after heard that Bobo will be ok after 10 days under this medications.
Later, after some reading through the net, I figured out Sporo is a disease that cannot be cured. Cat or animal who had this desease will slowly died once the fungus get into his lymphatic system. This killing fungus will slowly destroy cat's organ and body and slowly the cat will die in pain. Sporo also can easily spread to another cat or human, especially when she/he/it has open wound so that the fungus can get into your blood system easily. I felt nervous, shock, and shivering.. did not want to accept the fact that I must put Bobo to sleep, then I called dr L back to confirm. She said the very opposite thing, sporo can heal after taking some medications. Moreover, she said the recent studies by UPM had found the solutions to cure Sporo.
10 days after 1st meet with dr L, we brought Bobo to see her again. Contradict to what she said before, this time she said the wound was not improved at all. She asked us to take another kind of medicine which cost us a lot of ringgits. I started to feel dr L only gave me hope in the same time she knew chances was not there anymore.
Felt cheated by this Vet, I went out looking another opinion. I felt dr L just try and error, giving many kind of medicine but not sure which is the best one for Bobo. I talked to forumers who had same experience with sporo. Surprisingly, all of them said, their cats finally had to put to sleep. I started to believe putting Bobo to sleep is the only best way I had to take. This is for the sake of to avoid Bobo suffer in pain and died slowly, and also for other kitties health. I made some sort of consultations, and read alot of articles about sporo. Finally I made very painful decision... Bobo had to send to rainbow bridge.
On 19th July 2010, Bobo left us. Thanks to my father helping all this done smoothly. He was the one who brought Bobo to the Vet and then brought Bobo back to bury. I didnt have enough strength to do all those thing alone.
Till now I am terribly miss him. The whole family is missing him.  It doesn't matter how many cats I have after this, none will be the same as my dear Bobo.

Picture above was taken 3 weeks before he went to Rainbow Bridge.

Bobo see you again in heaven.

I am so very sorry to read about Bobo. Worse is the vets who didn't know what they were doing, who didn't have the correct information. You did the right thing, so Bobo was saved from suffering.

So sorry to hear about Bobo, what a beautiful mancat he was.

What a great mum you were to do all that research yourself and find out what the vet didn't know so in the end Bobo didn't suffer!

They are all little angels sent to teach us what love is all about, what it is like to give without taking, how to make difficult decision and to appreciate life even more...

Bobo belongs to heaven for he is an angel (without wings but with one very long tail) ... I am sure Bobo is happy to be reunited with his other siblings who had made it there before him.

Farah, I know it is a tough decision. Thank you for loving him. {{hugs}}
